Special Stuff

I've had some very cool experiences at The Cell.  See below.

Race Day

I ran a race that finished inside the warning track of U.S. Cellular Field.  It was the first race I ran just a week after my mom died.

Sox Sale

The Sox have had sales that take place inside the clubhouse.  In past years you've even had the chance to visit the visitors' dugout.  Kids loved it!

Frank Thomas Day

One of baseball's greatest hitters.  We were in the stands to see the Big Hurt's number retired and his statue unveiled.  We have a mini-statue and Frank Thomas bobblehead to show for it!  Note the jumbotron:  it was 94 degrees that day.

Mark Beuherle's Perfect Game

Yep.  You read that right.  I was fortunate enough to be at Mark Beuherle's Perfect Game.  Number 18 in the history of MLB.  The ticket is framed along with a pencil portrait my sister-in-law Wendy drew.

Catcher's Challenge

One year when attending a game with my friend Victor we were asked to complete a catcher's challenge.  The challenge was for partners to try to put on catcher's gear before another couple.  The challenge was video taped and shown on the jumbotron during the 4th inning.  The winners received better seats.  I kicked butt....Victor didn't and we lost.  He videotaped the jumbotron but after all these years still refuses to send it to me!

Best.Gift.Ever.

To wrap up this page....a great gift.  One Christmas Nick gave me a partial season ticket plan (13 games).  He tried to scramble the letters to make me guess the gift.  He made it impossible...he intentionally left off letters!

Happy Birthday to me!

A great gift from someone who knows me well.
